Tonight me and Drew play a big gig at Barley and Hops in Temecula...

So tonight me and Drew are going to be playing a 4 hour set at Barley and Hops in Temecula, California from 9PM to 1AM. It's going to be a lot of fun-we've really started to gel with our sound and harmonies, and we've added a few new songs to the mix which are real classics...I didn't think Eve 6's "Inside Out" would quite work for an acoustic duo, but it turns out to be one of my new favorites we do haha...

Plus, during my solo set, I'll be throwing in a couple of new John Mayer tunes, "Stop This Train" and "Heart of Life" from his Continuum album. I love those songs so I decided to throw them in. I needed to learn some "new" Mayer stuff anyways. And I may throw in 1 original song; I'm thinking "Summer". And I just said "throw in" 3 times. Make that 4.

So it's going to be a lot of fun-I hope all of our friends show up-it's always better to play to a full room. The venue, Barley and Hops, is very unique-kind of like a German Tavern or something. It's a big, open place yet intimate at the same time.

My Marine Corps buddy is in town...

So, Yoseph Henry, my buddy from Iraq who was a Marine, is taking his vacation here in Sunny Socal and staying with me and Joanie. It's been a good time so far. The last 2 nights we went to karaoke, watched some movies, caught up on the good and the bad, and now tonight we're headed to have some sushi with another musician friend (OH I didn't tell you-Yoseph is maybe the best singer I know-that's real) and then we're going to watch my friend Eddie Hudson's band "Paper Mache" at a house concert with another cool band, "Goodnight and Goodluck" in Murrieta. Tomorrow LA...

We need a sponsor for an album/documentary

This is a crazy request-but basically me and several of my musician buddies want to rent a beach house/Bel Air mansion/BevHills mansion/Hollywood Hills mansion for a week ($), bring in recording equipment and camera crew to record an album and a documentary (have the people but still $), stock the place with food and drink ($), book gigs at select LA venues each night, have a limo or bus for transportation so no driving on our part($), also spend one of the nights in Vegas and let the transportation take us there and back ($)....

I really believe we can get it done for $5000.

Generally speaking, this is kind of my last labor of love for music before law school, and I want to make it awesome and bring in all my pals that have been with me for a while to have a great time and potentially create a piece of art that is unique and cool and could make money from sales and make others (the sponsor) money from a promotional standpoint. I have worked with Time Warner Cable Channel 23 as well, and we could broadcast the documentary on cable so you could look at this as an advertising expense for you or your company etc. We also have the outlets to put the music all over the web, iTunes, cdbaby, myspace, facebook, you name it. (Just check out my website below). And we have a few minor celebrities/important people in the industry that might be willing to be a part of this.

Maybe there is some rich guy or gal out there that would be willing to sponsor this? I have everything lined up so you wouldn't have to worry with anything, just provide the money and get the credit as the sponsor.
I'm open to suggestions. ghartline@hotmail.com
